SIERRA SUSTAINABLE BUILDERS is a Lake Tahoe based company founded in 2002.  We have history of local experience working in Tahoe's unique enviroment of regulatory agencies and extreme climate.  Over the course of the last decade we have developed solid working relationships with quality local subcontractors, suppliers, and building department officials.  In this period we have taken on projects of all sizes and scope.  Our portfolio is deep, including new residential construction, complex remodel/addition, commercial remodel, as well as cabinetry and custom furniture.  Central to our approach is a belief that sustainability and efficiency are important factors in today's building process, and we strive to maintain practical and affordable solutions that integrate these factors and achieve our clients' goals.

Millworks - Green Cabinetry and Reclaimed Furniture

   

For years we have been working with and actively repurposing reclaimed wood.  In our hands it has become everything from trim, siding, and decking to unique custom furnishings and cabinetry. 

Our custom cabinetry came about with a passion for design and desire to bring green building practices into this important aspect of every home.  We have valuable experience utilizing formaldehyde free composites, reclaimed woods, and water based Low VOC finishes in these high use areas of the home.
